Virgil provided strategic consulting for Anthem’s “next-generation” member engagement platform, including the development of personalized, nurse triage AI chatbots.
He also worked specifically on Anthem AI’s “Precision Insights Program (PIP),” a personalized medicine application that predicts the optimal efficacies of different diabetes medications for individual patients – based on anonymized data from Anthem’s 45 million members.
Through a strategic partnership, Virgil consulted on the application strategy, analytics, IT platforms, and program management of Kaiser’s diabetes prevention and obesity management programs.
Among other projects and initiatives, Virgil worked on the strategy, people, processes, and technologies needed to ensure consistently accurate and high-quality nurse reviews of inpatient prior authorizations.
Virgil led the process of deepening the client relationship from CX delivery to a digital consulting engagement. HGS delivered $12M in efficiency savings and 15%-20% in productivity improvements.
Through application transformation, analytics, infrastructure, and other solutions, HGS consultants re-imagined the benefit configuration process. A new case review tool prevented nearly all escalations to brokers due to missing information. RPA helped to reduce touch time from 480 minutes to only 30 minutes. We reduced re-working by 95%.
This XR training module helps caregivers see how a home environment can appear to a person with cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, or diabetic retinopathy (at different levels of severity). The caregiver can then make adjustments in the space to avoid falls and help with mobility and navigation.
The Environmental Geriatrics course includes dozens of XR modules to help caregivers better empathize with seniors while optimizing their living spaces. Virgil led the digital/XR team (including Josh Hester, designer, and Mike Sachs, PM), collaborating with Rosemary Bakker, Research Associate in Gerontologic Design at Weill Cornell Medicine.
This XR system simulates skull base neurosurgery procedures, including haptic feedback and assessment of surgical performance. It has trained 200 neurosurgeons from 57 countries via the skull-base fellowship, combining cadaveric work and VR simulation. Virgil led the team supporting Dr. Antonio Bernardo with digital services for this program.
